Chapter 20- Making plans

The rest of that day was about as hectic as one would expect. After dinner, Nix took it upon herself to show me around the whole "mansion". Unfortunately, I understood almost nothing because the connections between the rooms made no sense. I was pretty sure that there were at least three different straight hallways that looped back on themselves. There was even a staircase that would go on infinitely unless you walked backwards for some reason.

Point is, after a whole afternoon of being shown around the pce, I still did not know where anything was. Nix insisted that it wasn't an issue and that she would gdly bring me anywhere I wanted to go if I asked, but it was still annoying.

Oh, and Camity had never actually cleaned herself up. Not that that was a surprise. In fact, Nix seemed to see nothing unusual about it, so I decided not to question it.

When I finally got back to the golden bedroom at the end of the day, I felt like my brain was about to explode from all of the nonsense that had happened that day. Laying down on the bed, I thought about my current situation.

I had managed to get away from that b and escaped from the imperial knights. I had a safe pce to stay too. In fact, I had even managed to make a friend. My current situation was extremely good.

Unfortunately, I couldn't just stay here forever. Relying on Camity for protection forever might have been a possibility, but I just didn't feel comfortable with it. Plus, if the encounter with that void swarm monster had shown me something, it was that there were still things out there that were far stronger than me. Risking to lose something important because of my own weakness wasn't something I could do.

I did have a way to grow stronger than almost anyone, at least. The dragon blood and the strange blessing did make my stats far better than they normally would have been. I still had to learn how to actually fight properly, but I could do that here. Unfortunately, I would also need to gain more levels if I wanted to truly be safe.

I spent a while trying to figure out what I was going to do. Most things that were options to regur people weren't really accessible to me. I did not figure out a good pn before falling asleep.

The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed. I was still worrying about what I was going to do, however.

I managed to make my way to the dining room by some miracle. It was different today, for some reason. Everything looked like it was made out of a dull gray metal.

Nix had arrived before me and was already almost done eating.

  "Good morning!" (Nix)

  "Hello." (Dragonfly)

I sat down and began to eat to eat too.

"You look worried. What's wrong?" (Nix)

Apparently she was able to tell that something was bothering me. Figuring that she might have a few good suggestions, I decided to just tell her.

"I'm just trying to figure out what I'm going to do in the future, you know?" (Dragonfly)

"Ohhh, want to become an adventurer and make a party with me? That could be lots of fun!" (Nix)

That did sound like a good idea, but there were issues.

"I'm not exactly normal, tho. I'm not even sure that the Guild would allow me to join." (Dragonfly)

"They wouldn't care, don't worry." (Camity)

Looking around to figure out where Camity was did not yield any results.

  "Down here." (Camity)

She was casually sitting under the table. I was almost surprised.

"Anyways, if you are worried about the Gcius Empire causing you trouble, I could always send the both of you to another continent. You wouldn't have any troubles there." (Camity)

"That does sound like a good idea." (Dragonfly)

It really was a good pn. I wouldn't have to deal with all of those annoying imperial knights and I would have an easy way to level up by sying monsters. Plus, sticking with my friend was a nice bonus.

"Yay, we will be the best adventurers ever!" (Nix)

"Now, now, don't get too excited, Nix. You two still have to master your current skills before I let you go against real monsters. I'm not going to risk my own daughter getting injured due to improper training." (Camity)

She seemed quite serious about this.

"Besides, it's not like the both of you aren't pnning to overthrow the government. You need lots of power to overthrow an emperor." (Camity)

Nevermind, that mischievious smile of hers told me everything I needed to know.

"Yay! We will become adventurers and then overthrow the government with the power of friendship!" (Nix)

That was absolutely a pn I could get behind.
